Review: The BFG (Roald Dahl)
Review: The BFG
Rating: ★★★★ (4.2/5)
The BFG or The Diary Of The BFG (what I like to call it) is a wonderfully amazing fantasy that takes you to another world, where live all but one big, nasty giants who eat human beans.
Being surrounded by the worst giants almost twice as tall as you who toss and dodge you up in the air can be the most unpleasant experience. But who knew what the nasty ones had come their way? The one they underestimated the most taught them the biggest lesson.
You must be wondering what does BFG do? Let me tell you about his fascinating occupation. Its dream catching! Yes, you got it right! He goes all the way to the dream country and catches dreams as we catch the butterflies! You may wonder what he does with those but I'm certainly not going to ruin the fun for you!☺☺
The interesting language with a bunch of very different words created by the author in the book keeps you not only hooked but also expands your imagination and thinking skills. Not only that, but the book also teaches you a great variety of lessons by the simplest example of the friendship between The BFG and the little girl Sophie who indeed made the story one of the most wonderful!
"When Sophie is snatched from her bed in the middle of the night by a giant four times as tall as the tallest human, she thinks she is about to be breakfast. But luckily for Sophie, her giant is the only nice and jumbly giant in the Giant Country, and the pair are soon thinking of ways to disappear the BFG's nasty neighbors."
The protagonist, Sophie is also a very strong, confident girl who thinks well before taking action and uses her wisdom to save the human beans that were gobbled up by the giants every night in the witching hour. She is a very mature girl for her age who portrays not only a great friend but also a good human being throughout.
The sweetest part was The BFG treating Sophie who's an orphan like his own daughter who then started to give him English lessons. The duo is unique and adorable!
To conclude the book is all about friendship and helping written in a beautifully delightful manner and what causes you to love the fantasy, even more, is the hilarious creative language such as:
"Am I right or left?", "terrific hullabaloo", "snozzcumbers", "frobscottle", "fizzwinkle"

Even I like this book. It's one of my favourites 📖 😊
